On Friday, June 23, 2017, a big anniversary celebration with an open day took place at Knorr-Bremse Division IFE in Kematen / Ybbs because of its 70th anniversary and its 20-year membership in the Knorr-Bremse Group.

The anniversary celebration of IFE began with a VIP reception in the morning with invited representatives from regional industry and politics. After a welcome by the Chairman of the Management Board of Knorr-Bremse GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. Oliver Schmidt, and speeches by the country's deputy Michaela Hinterholzer and Mayor Juliana Günther, the company was presented during a guided tour. The guests were very interested and were delighted to get a detailed insight into the daily happenings at IFE.

On time at 13:00, the "Open Day" started in the open air area and the first guests arrived. More than 2,000 visitors attended the celebration. In addition to the barbecue there was of course also musical entertainment, company tours and a playground for the little ones.

Overall it was a successful festival and IFE was able to demonstrate the passion with which the employees work day by day in the safety and reliability of entrance systems for the world's rail vehicles.
